Car Dock Home v3 Beta 9
You all are finding great bugs for me! Thanks, I really appreciate the opportunity to make this solid on the variety of phones beyond my own.
Beta 9 is in the market, and on the app page. Fixes icon labeling and stops the database erasing on upgrade.

Could you make an “Exit Car Mode” intent available? That would allow Tasker users to automatically exit Car Mode based on other considerations?
Do you expose any other intents (other than Action home)?

Actually the code for that is already there. If you use the builtin shortcut from car dock while running adb logcat you should see details needed. But I will post those details once I get home…

The activity that runs with the launcher icon, tries to detect if you are running Android 2.1 or 2.2, and enter car mode accordingly. I occasionally see it fail to enter car mode, but still launch the hidden car home activity, on 2.2. I have been testing mostly on my phone, so I’ll make a pass at 2.1 again with the emulator. My intention is for it to work.

It appears that I have to modify one little thing for tasked to find this. I’ll include that in a release this weekend.

Ok, I’ve exposed this in beta 10. When using Tasker’s Load App, enable ‘all’ and you will see ‘Car Mode Exit’ as an item. This activity will terminate car mode and return to the default desktop home.

I downloaded car dock v3 beta and it does nothing when i tap on the icon.
I uninstall-ed then tried v2. This one works fine but i really want three so i can customize my screen icons and background. does v3 not work because i have a fascinate running on 2.1? please let me know
